New World Mammal is a 50-page, self-produced, handmade chapbook
created with all natural materials. It is available for a small donation. All $
support Foundation for Children in Need.
New World Mammal pieces circumambulate the themes of: Who are
we? Where are we going? How do we connect to each other and our
surroundings? Messages of individual transformation, of awareness for
inner and outer worlds, of a goal for balance within ourselves and the space we share with
all life on our planet.
The New World Mammal Door is a collage of natural items, latex and acrylic paint, representing
the themes of the chapbook. It is currently on display at Club Timbuktu in Milwaukee, WI.
New World Mammal
is a
labor of love that I began with my first pregnancy. Playing music in a group became
difficult and later, simply playing the bass became impossible. I was like a walrus trying
to balance a candle in each hand. Song lyrics began morphing into 'poems' as a creative
outlet. My writing has evolved since printing these pages, but my hope is to create
a work with a tactile and visual aesthetic that resonates with life as I bind each one by
hand.
